Erlanger, Joseph
(1874–1965)
   US physiologist and Nobel laureate, 1944. A professor of physiology at Washington University, St Louis, Erlanger shared the 1944 Nobel Prize in Medicine and Physiology for work on the electrical properties of nerve fibres, and on the effects of pulse pressure on kidney function.
