Sephardim

Sephardim
(from Sepharad, the Hebrew name for Spain)
   The Spanish and Portuguese Jews and their descendants. In modern Israel the term is applied generally to Jews originating from Arab countries. The other main grouping in the Jewish world is the Ashkenazim (see above).
