Katz, Sir Bernard
(b. 1911)
   British physiologist and Nobel laureate, 1970. Born in Germany, Katz became professor of biophysics at University College, London, and vice-president of the Royal Society (1965). In 1970 he received the Nobel Prize in Medicine and Physiology for his research on the nerve impulse and nerve-muscle connections.
