Lavry, Marc
(1903–67)
   Israel composer. A prolific composer, Lavry reflects in his music a synthesis of his Eastern European background and the Israel environment. Dan ha-Shomer (‘Dan the Watchman’), written by him in 1945, was the first Israel opera.
