Ozyck, Cynthia
(b. 1928)
   American writer. Ozyck was born in New York and grew up in a Yiddish-speaking home. She was educated at New York University and Ohio State University. She has published several novels including Trust (1966), The Cannibal Galaxy (1983) and The Messiah of Stockholm (1987). Her short story collections include The Pagan Rabbi and Other Stories (1971), Bloodshed and Three Novellas (1976) and Levitation: Five Fictions (1982). Ozyck’s writings are preoccupied with the conflict between the worship of beauty - what Ozyck calls Paganism - and traditional Judaism.
