Romberg, Sigmund
(1887–1951)
   Composer of operettas. Romberg emigrated from his native Hungary to the United States in 1909. He became a master of light tuneful operettas and composed over seventy of them, the best known ones being The Student Prince (1924) and The Desert Song (1926).
