Singer, Isidore
(1859–1939)
   Editor of the Jewish Encyclopedia. Singer was born in Moravia, and from 1887 lived as a journalist in Paris, where he published a periodical in defence of DREYFUS. In 1895 he moved to New York and devoted himself to producing and editing the Jewish Encyclopedia, that appeared in twelve volumes between 1901 and 1906.
