Blum, Julius (Blum Pasha)
(1843–1919)
   Austrian financier. In 1869, Blum was sent to Egypt to take charge of the Alexandria branch of an important Austrian bank. He accepted an appointment in the Egyptian Ministry of Finance and in 1877 became under-secretary of finance. He resigned in 1890 and returned to the bank in Vienna, becoming its president.
