Cassel, Sir Ernest Joseph

Cassel, Sir Ernest Joseph
(1852–1921)
   British financier. The son of a Cologne banker, Cassel came to London in 1868. The bank he established was involved in the construction of the first Aswan Dam in Egypt, for which he was knighted. He became a convert to Catholicism.
