Jong, Erica
(b. 1942)
   American writer. Jong was born in New York and educated at Barnard College and at Columbia University. She is known for her best-selling feminist novels which include Fear of Flying (1973), How to Save Your Own Life (1977), Parachutes and Kisses (1984) and Any Woman’s Blues (1990). She has also produced historical fantasies and six books of serious poetry. Her autobiography Fear of Fifty was published in 1994.
