Megged, Ahron

Megged, Ahron
(b. 1920)
   Israeli writer. Megged was born in Poland, but emigrated to Palestine as a child. Initially the family lived in a farming collective and later on a kibbutz. Megged is the author of several collections of short stories, novels including Mikreh Hakesil (‘Fortunes of a Fool’, 1960) and Ma’aseh Meguneh (‘An Indecent Incident’, 1986), the very popular play I Like Mine (1956) and the well-known Holocaust story Yad Vashem (1956), translated as The Name (1962).
