- Modiano, Patric
- (b. 1945)French writer. Modiano was born in Paris and is regarded as an important representative of a group of modern French Sephardic writers. His novels include La Place de l’Etoile (1968), Les Boulevards de Ceinture (1972) for which he won the Grand Prix de Roman de l’Academie Française and Rues des Boutiques Obscures (1978) which won the Prix Goncourt. Modiano’s novels are often concerned with a search for identity. Among his other honours, he is a Chevalier des Arts et des Lettres.
