Pincus, Louis Arieh
(1912–73)
   Israel Zionist leader. Born in South Africa, Pincus practised law there before settling in Israel in 1948. He was managing director of El Al (1949–56), treasurer of the Jewish Agency Executive from 1961 and its chairman from 1966. He brought about a reconstituted Jewish Agency, in which the leaders of the main fund-raising organizations in the Diaspora shared responsibility for allocating aliyah and absorption budgets.
